What started as an instagram challenge quickly morphed into my most challenging piece to date. Mermay, much like inktober and huevember is a month long challenge whereby artists are charged with creating a new illustration every day. This lady was ‘May 1st’ and the one image i came back to time and time again even when the month had long passed. It’s been a long time since I’ve been as precious with my paintings but this one was a special case. Started in Photoshop - finished in Procreate.
